Sensory Edible/Medicinal Plant Walk & Native Plant Sale
6:00pm—8:30pm
Greystone Nature Preserve (8531 Bear Lake Rd, Fredonia, NY)
Kids come free!
Our senses of taste, touch, sight, and smell tell us a great deal about the edible and medicinal properties of plants. In this outdoor event, Community herbalist Sarah Sorci will orient you to a range of edible and medicinal WNY plants, letting our senses be our guide.
Royal Fern Nursery will be selling native plants at this event!
For the plant walk: bring a water bottle, sun protection, and a notebook if desired. Feel free to take photos of plants; this may help you remember what we discussed.
We will meet at the Royal Fern Nursery tent at 6:15pm for the plant walk. We’ll end at the same location around 7:45pm. The folks from Royal Fern Nursery will orient us to the benefits of growing native plants, and we’ll learn a bit about the plants they brought. Participants will have the opportunity to shop for native plants throughout the evening, starting at 6:00pm.
Rain date: If heavy rain and/or thunderstorms are predicted, we will move this event to Tuesday, August 29th, same time.
I will email registrants by 10am on August 22nd if we are moving to the rain date. Please check your email that day for a possible update.
